AFRICA CHF International's in Africa programs promote social and economic security for vulnerable and under-served communities by supporting livelihoods, promoting HIV prevention, care and treatment, providing emergency and humanitarian relief, expnding access to credit, rehabilitaing infrastructure and improving health and hygiene.
CHF is supporting livelihoods in the Somali region of Ethiopia through cooperative, community development efforts. CHF is also helping drought-affected communities to meet their water needs by establishing new wells and water catchment systems.
Through Boafo Microfinance Services Ltd., CHF is providing urban Ghanaians with access to affordable finance to enable them to pursue their business, shelter and educational dreams. CHF is also assisting urban residents by developing sustainable, community-based water and sanitation solutions in slum neighborhoods and providing employment and training opportunities for youth in the sanitation sector.
CHF is working with local partners, including community-based, faith-based and non-governmental organizations to build their capacity to support, treat and care for individuals living with or affected by the HIV/AIDS epidemic.
CHF is helping Liberians rebuild economic networks through the Liberian Enterprise Development Finance Company, which is the first Liberian non-bank financial institution to serve the finance needs of small- and medium-enterprises. CHF is also supporting women entrepreneurs with training, certification and education and helping to improve the water supply, sanitation and hygiene within six counties in Liberia as well as parts of Monrovia.
CHF is assisting communities and vulnerable populations affected by HIV/AIDS through prevention education, palliative care, vocational training and other types of essential support. CHF is also helping Rwandans improve their lives by promoting the development of cooperatives and the manufacture and distribution of fuel-efficient stoves.
CHF is working in South Sudan to address needs in the areas of economic development, infrastructure creation and rehabilitation, civic awareness and participation, gender-based violence, and water and sanitation.
